Die-off symptoms
I am interested in hearing any and all die-off reactions or herxhiemer reactions that anyone is having. Others may find it interesting.
How many of you have experienced a worsening of existing symptoms as opposed to new symptoms as a result of die-off.

I’m in Phase 2 and have had a worsening of existing symptoms throughout each Phase. Each time I go through my antifungal rotation I find a difference in symptoms. They’ve lessened as Phase 2 has gone by and some symptoms are barely noticeable any longer.
The interesting thing I’m finding is that when the candida was in full force some of the possibly non-candida related symptoms were not as predominant but now that the candida is clearing it’s made way for other symptoms to come out.

That is very interesting, how long did it take for your die-off symptoms to lessen?

I’ve been on Phase 2 for almost 3 months so I would say it’s only been fairly recently that my reactions during each rotation have become more subtle. During my last colonic about 2 weeks ago my hydrotherapist told me that I was cleansing very well and did not notice any signs of yeast. I’ve found that colonics throughout this Phase have really been a great help. I can only wonder if what I’m dealing with now are the after effects of what the candida did to my system.

I have been on Phase 2 for about 7 weeks. I was feeling really great; no die off symptoms since the beginning of the Phase, until my birthday! My co-workers bought me cupcakes, and of course, I had to have them. (I had been really good on the diet prior, and had not had any sugar since small amounts at Christmas). These were cupcakes with VERY sugary frosting, and loads of it. The next day, I had a running nose, congestion, and felt generally awful - like you do when you get a cold. It has been about a week since I have had the cupcakes, and I am just beginning to feel better now! Needless to say, I won’t be having anymore sugar anytime soon.

wow!
So you had sugar it made the some new yeast and then the program killed the new yeast and you felt the die-off!

Hello this is Danielle again. Please write back and tell me what your biggest struggle has been with the diet. For example: breakfast foods, snack foods. I am doing extensive research on these kind of foods and would like input from you. Thank you.

Hi everyone. I’m just now starting my second week on the candi-scrub supplements in Phase 0 and I wanted to know if anyone recalled their symptoms from this phase. I have heightened awareness in muscles, feel a warmth traveling through my legs. Sometimes I get tingling, similar to when blood is rushing back after an extremity has fallen asleep - but without the sensitivity. Also, I’m having big problems with constipation. I tried aloe, cascara, psyllium, flaxseed, flaxmeal. I just can’t seem to kickstart my bowels. I eventually went but I don’t want to have to do this daily.

Have you tried aloe lite or aloe 225 caps?
Sometimes just drinking hot ginger every hour will do it.
You sound like your getting die-off phase 0 and your bowels must move to reduce these symptoms.

Hi Danielle,
You asked in a message above what have been some diet challenges. I think not properly counting my carbohydrates (all of them) has been a struggle. The other thing that’s been hard is the boredom of eating the same types of food all the time. Being creative has become more difficult.

I’ve been getting headaches and have had a runny nose almost every day. This is the 2nd month of phase 1, and we upped my doses a bit and these symptoms are more frequent than last month. Last month I went out drinking one night for a friend’s birthday (never again!) and it felt as if I had gotten a cold afterwards but now after reading this it was probably die-off symptoms too.

Hi - I’m in Phase 0 but actively doing the candida diet. One of my symptoms prior to beginning Phase 0 was bone and muscle pain. Well it subsided for a while and tonight it, along with a flare up of a yeast symptoms vaginally has occurred. Now, on easter I had a little cocktail sauce but that was it. Do you think this is die off or reaction. Its not easy to tell. Also, like JenLynn says, perhaps it was the carbs. Today I had about ten tortillas in a taco salad meal I posted in the recipe exchange and later I ate a few rice cakes. Is that too much?

One more thing - what brand of colloidal silver is recommended? I’d like to use that along side the diet and other supplements.

Hi Remeehan;
The best silver brands that we know of our Allergy research group and VRP.
The amount of carbs from the rice cakes, the tortillas etc sounds ok for now.

Hi JenLynn;
Yes I would agree that is die-off, When we cheat on the program the supplements will kill the new candida growth from the cheat and you will feel it die-off!

I don’t seem to have the typical die off…flu symptoms etc. Mine are usually increased vaginal discharge, worsening of athletics foot and brain fog. I’m not sure if that’s because I’m feeding the yeast inadvertently or just die off.Or if I’m not having enough bowel movements in a day? How would one tell? Is it possible that the Candida/Yeast Diet I’ve been following is not right for a person or was better for someone in the beginning of the program vs. midway or towards the end of it? How would we know? I haven’t had any sugar, white flour, alcohol or dairy since I’ve started this several months ago.

The major reason why people get die-off are not enough bowel movements and feeding the yeast and making it grow only to kill it again and feel more die-off. If you haven’t had sugar, white flour, alcohol etc the odds are your diet is fine.
An increase in your existing complaints is a die-off reaction they don’t have to be flu symptoms.

Hi
I have been suffering from lower back pain (like lumbago) and my homepath associates this with the Candida. I have been on the Diet for one week (removed all sugars, fruits, cereals,pastas,breads etc) but am still feeling this back pain, which comes and goes. Has anyone had these symptoms and has the diet relieved the pain?

I have heard from many people that the candida elimination will help, but it could take months.
