I've been on candida diet since 4/18/08, for the first four days I was very down and deprest, since anything I touched to eat, I realized that I wasn't allowed, but it got easier, I found brown rice tortilla's at Trader Joe's, instead of peanut butter, I grind my own roasted almonds in food processer, for sweet cravings I eat granny smith apples, I have done a lot of research this past 5 years, since my candida was showing in my finger nails, now I am on the candida diet for not quiet 2 full months, I feel great, but now I am sad that the summer fruits are arriving, i.e. strawberries and I can not eat them. If anyone needs suggestions, I have lots of them, let me know.
By the way for sweet craving, I use xylitol and I make brown rice cookies if anyone is interested in the recipe.

Total amount of carbs is important, but generally the low glycemic carbs are better tolerated regardless of the total amount. If your carbs are below 150 grams per day and you choose mostly the lower glycemic numbers like 55-60 you will do well.

Hi my question is regarding carb counting and the glycemic index. Can someone explain to me which one trumps and how it is all related to the yeast?

I just started Phase 1! Yaaay. I'm on the road to wellness.

Some companies have been trying to take advantage of the Candida epidemic. This one really made me mad. It's called Micronutra (goes by other names too: Techmedica, True Value Media -they kept changing names) First they set up about 30 websites selling, "reviewing", and "blogging" their product Candidol. (They sell basically this same formula as a "cure" for many different diseases.)

Well their karmas have caught up with them because I just read by googling thier company names that the owners got arrested by the feds for fraudulent advertising. (google techmedica fraud or candidol fraud)

It just seems that there is always someone to take your money if you have a need. Too bad. Buyer beware is the thing to remember.

When trying to eliminate candida, what pots and pans are best to use? I have heard that using teflon or certain types leak into the food causing adverse reactions. Is there truth to this?
