HELLO EVERYONE, THIS IS JOAN, ONE OF THE MOST FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS FOR THE OFFICE IS WHICH OF THE THREE DIETS DO I HAVE TO FOLLOW?

  2. admin says:

Each of the 3 diets are a bit different. The Candida test tells us which is the best. Also some people with Candida have more of a problem with fermented foods, yeast and fungus foods like mushrooms so one of the diets excludes those. The 3 diets exist so we can pick the one the best suited. We also have a computer program that can customize a diet for someone!

  3. admin says:

Also there is the Candida Diet Master chart. That chart is an attempt to summate all the diets. If a food isn’t listed in the diet you are looking at, you can find it on the Master Chart and see were it fits in. Keep in mind that nothing is written in stone here! Itcan vary person to person and can also change durring the treatment!

This is Danielle. I have been working for the Biamonte Center for 12 years. The Candida diet is not easy. Through the years, I have learned many ways to get patients through the diet for example there are certain sugars that do not make yeast grow. I have also discovered different foods that can get you through the diet so you dont feel deprived. I have found this method to be very successfull. Staying on the your specific diet, depending on your test results, will speed up your recovery and make the progam most effective.

  5. admin says:

ok Danielle, why don’t you expound alittle on your comment. I am sure we are now all very curious as to the tricks of the trade you know.

  6. danielle says:

Hello, this is Danielle again. I am here to share with you my tricks for the candida diet. The first thing I use is the hemp hearts. The hemp hearts curb your sugar cravings and they taste good alone or sprinkled on top of your food. I like to sprinkle them on salad with olive oil and lemon. Another trick is the sugar free chocolates I order special for people on the candida diet. We have white, mint, almond, dark and milk chocolate. It is ok to have 1 per day. There is also this website made for people on the candida diet which specializes in yeast, wheat and gluten free snacks and foods. The website is www.lowcarbfriends.com. There is also a great gluten free pasta that you can have occasionally. The website for that is www.tinkada.com. If you are still feeling sugar cravings you can also go to the health food store and get myoplex carb sense protein bars. The combination of these things made the candida diet much easier and you do not constantly feel like you are being deprived.

  7. admin says:

The hemp hearts seem to have helped over 80% of the patients complaining of sugar cravings. Is there anyone out there who they have helped that would like to share their experience?

  8. conniem says:

    L Glutamine works for some.

Hey guys. My problem is that I am a big eater. I am in pretty good shape and very active and it takes alot to get me full. I started the diet about 6 months ago and I’m always hungry and i keep loosing weight. I’ve lost over 25 lbs so far and I dont want to lose any more. Dr. Biamonte told me to up my carbs so i’ve been eating brown rice pasta with an organic homemade sauce with seafood. I actually love it. I just want to make sure that that is ok. Salads and meats are fine but they just dont fill me up and I walk around hungry all day and keep loosing weight. Does anyone have any insight for me. Phase 1 is taking longer than I expected and I want to make sure that I am not sabotaging myself with the pasta even though I am very strict on everything else. Anyways, I am rambling. I think it’s great that you guys are doing this. Thank you.

    Hi Archie;

Phase 1 is usually 2-4 months but it can go longer. If you are getting wt loss on the diet your carbs could be too low. So if you raise them to the put of the wt loss stopping its probably ok. Also combining the carbs with fats like butter or oil can help keep your wt up and stave off hunger!

  12. mobey says:

I am on the Candida diet. Can I eat natural peanut butter, with no sugar? I bought it from Whole Foods, and the only ingredients listed are peanuts. Also, are raw cashews okay? Finally, what about South Beach bars? Sorry for all the questions, I want to be sure I’m following it right, and I am also hungry all the time. The Peanut Butter staves off my hunger.

  13. rudear says:

Dairy products are on the list of forbidden foods. I was not sure if this was because of the milk sugars or common food allergies to milk products? Many of the “low carb” snacks contain whey protein. Would this be ok or better to avoid?

  14. jeannie says:

I have a different problem than Archie. I’ve been on the Candida Yeast Diet for 4 months and have gained weight and am retaining a great deal of fluid. I’ve just moved into Phase 2 and am beginning the new supplements. I’ve just started to incorporate the hemp hearts, just 2T at breakfast. I only have about 80 grams of carbs per day and limit nuts to 1 T. almond butter and 1/4 c of nuts per day. I’m not sure why I continue to gain but I really can’t afford to gain 3 lbs per month. Any suggestions?

  15. admin says:

Peanuts contain aflatoxin-b which seems to be very allergicly reactive in candida patients. If you don’t appear to worsen or see symptoms after consuming it I would say to consume it every 3 days to avoid developing an allergy responce. Technically many nuts may contain it, but it has been observed that peanuts seem more reactive.

  16. admin says:

Dairy are on the forbidden list because they are high in lactose which yeasts seem to like. They also can be very allergic. In a pinch your better off eating cheese then blowing the diet with carbs and sugar.

Whey protein can be ok esp. if it is “micro filtered”.

  17. admin says:

If you are gaining weight on phase 2 in may be due to the fluid retention, the 1st concern would be your Bowel movements. If they have slowed down that could be the reason.

If the Bms are ok your body may not be handling the fats on the diet and you may need to reduce the nuts, oils and animal fats and increase your aerobic exercise.

The other concern could be an allergy to a supplement or something new that is causing the fluid retention.

  18. mobey says:

Is plain oatmeal and/or plain grits allowed on the Candida diet?

  19. admin says:

Both foods contain gluten or gluten like proteins which reacts with and may feed Candida. I would eat them very sparingly.

For many years it was thought that oats contain gluten, we know now that oats do not contain gluten, but they contain a gluten like protein.

  20. jeannie says:

I wanted to see if small amounts of xylitol are okay on the candida diet. I have it in the natural toothpaste I’ve been using so I wanted to confirm if this is okay.

  21. admin says:

Xylitol in tooth paste should be fine!

  22. jeannie says:

I was wondering if coconut milk would be considered an acceptable item that can be used on the candida diet.

  23. admin says:

If it unsweetened in could be ok.

  24. mobey says:

Where do you recommend I buy Hemp Hearts from? There are a lot of sites on the internet, but I want to make sure what I buy is good quality.
    Thanks!

  25. lucinep says:

I know stevia is okay to use, but what about commercial sugar substitutes like maltitol?

  26. admin says:

    Hi Mobey!

Most people buy them online from variuos sources, I don’t know of anyone that stands out. Danielle may have an opinion.

  27. admin says:

    Hello Lucinep;

Malitol and the alcohol sugars appear to promote the growth of friendly flora. Some people experience a worsening of their candida symptoms on them. The book is not closed on them yet. In moderation they may be ok.

  28. remeehan says:

hi everyone. I was wondering if there will be a food idea exchange portion on the blog. I could share a few recipes.

  29. remeehan says:

Me again. So, I was way excited to find this tea at Trader Joes that is caffeine free, but naturally sweet by Good Earth. The ingredients are Red Rooibos, Chicory Root, Artificial Flavor (yuk), Rosehips, Cinnamon, Peppermint, Lemongrass, Papaya, Chamomile, Panax Ginseng Leaves, Anise Seed, Ginger Root, Dandelion Root, Orange Peel and Orange Oil. Is it safe to say that I should not be enjoying this? I have had an increase in my candida symptoms but its hard to say if that is die off (but in Phase 0??) or the tea =(. Any ideas?

  30. admin says:

I would say its ok, you may be getting die-off from phase 0!

  31. Lindy says:

    Hi, I’m new here…

Just wondering if anyone was able to stay on that body ecology diet? When I went on it I got terrible die off felt like the flu for at least a week and after 4 weeks I just could not stand it anymore… Had my cholestrol checked that week and it went crazy 330.
I’m just going to stick to the regular candida diet.

    Lindy

  32. admin says:

    Hi Lindy

I have not heard of anyone get such a strong die-off from that diet.

What phase are you on now?

  33. admin says:

    Hello remeehan;

The food exchange blog is being started today!

  34. Lexie01 says:

Is it safe to have foods with citric acid on Phase One?

  35. Lexie01 says:

When trying to eliminate candida, what pots and pans are best to use? I have heard that using teflon or certain types leak into the food causing adverse reactions. Is there truth to this?

  36. JillyGirl says:

Some companies have been trying to take advantage of the Candida epidemic. This one really made me mad. It’s called Micronutra (goes by other names too: Techmedica, True Value Media -they kept changing names) First they set up about 30 websites selling, “reviewing”, and “blogging” their product Candidol. (They sell basically this same formula as a “cure” for many different diseases.)

Well their karmas have caught up with them because I just read by googling thier company names that the owners got arrested by the feds for fraudulent advertising. (google techmedica fraud or candidol fraud)

It just seems that there is always someone to take your money if you have a need. Too bad. Buyer beware is the thing to remember.

  37. remeehan says:

Hi my question is regarding carb counting and the glycemic index. Can someone explain to me which one trumps and how it is all related to the yeast?

I just started Phase 1! Yaaay. I’m on the road to wellness.

  38. admin says:

Total amount of carbs is important, but generally the low glycemic carbs are better tolerated regardless of the total amount. If your carbs are below 150 grams per day and you choose mostly the lower glycemic numbers like 55-60 you will do well.

  39. mandij says:

Hi, on phase 1 of the diet can i eat gluten free tortillas?

  40. admin says:

You can have some lets say a few a day.

  41. Carlo says:

I’ve been on candida diet since 4/18/08, for the first four days I was very down and deprest, since anything I touched to eat, I realized that I wasn’t allowed, but it got easier, I found brown rice tortilla’s at Trader Joe’s, instead of peanut butter, I grind my own roasted almonds in food processer, for sweet cravings I eat granny smith apples, I have done a lot of research this past 5 years, since my candida was showing in my finger nails, now I am on the candida diet for not quiet 2 full months, I feel great, but now I am sad that the summer fruits are arriving, i.e. strawberries and I can not eat them. If anyone needs suggestions, I have lots of them, let me know.
By the way for sweet craving, I use xylitol and I make brown rice cookies if anyone is interested in the recipe.

  42. admin says:

for sweet cravings the “hemp hearts” work great. Ask Danielle for sources. as far as the fruits go, its granny smiths apples, berries or all kind, ocassional melon and thats about it!

  43. grm says:

  44. admin says:
